Homeschooling

General Description

Homeschooling or home schooling, also known as home education or elective home education, is the education of school-aged children at home or a variety of places other than a school.

Homeschooling Process

Step 1 - Submit a Formal Letter of Intent

New students and returning students must start the admissions process by submitting a formal Letter of Intent to the school administration. This letter should express the family's desire to enroll their child in the homeschooling program for the upcoming academic year.

Step 2 - Accomplish Homeschooling Form

After receiving the Letter of Intent, the school will provide the applicant with a Homeschooling Form. This form should be completed by the parent or guardian and include essential information about the student, their educational goals, and the homeschooling plan.

Step 3 - Evaluation by Principal

The Homeschooling Form will be evaluated by the school's Principal. They will review the information provided and ensure that it aligns with the school's homeschooling program guidelines and all applicable legal requirements.

Assessment of the Student Applicant

New students will be required to undergo an assessment by the principal through a face-to-face interview to determine their current academic level and needs. This assessment will help tailor the homeschooling program to meet the individual student's requirements.

Interview

Depending on the school's policies, an interview with the parent or guardian and the student may be conducted. This interview allows for a discussion of educational goals, expectations, and any specific needs or accommodations.

Step 4 - Submission of Required Documents

Families must submit all necessary documents to the school registrar. This may include proof of residency, vaccination records, birth certificates, and any other documents required by local regulations.

Processing for Submitted Documents

The Registrar's Office will process all submitted documents. Parents or guardians will be provided with specific forms that must be filled out and details that must be encoded into the school management system.

Step 5 - Approval by the Director for Academics

Following a positive evaluation by the Principals, the Homeschooling Form will be submitted to the Director for Academics for final approval. The Director will ensure that the homeschooling plan meets educational standards and aligns with the school's mission and goals.

Step 6 - Enrollment

- Parents to enroll child/children
- Pay tuition and other fees
- Purchase books/materials
- Cashier to issue receipt, evident information, and Home Schooling Kit
